Yoga assists the growing mind to expand and explore, to remain calm and centred, to know right from wrong, sharpening the intuition and honing the senses.
Young adults today experience a fast paced world and a sense of calm is essential if they are to thrive and be well. As study commitments and the competitive nature of sports and education come down upon them, the skills to breathe deep, take it in, and go a little deeper within will be tools for life. Lessons for the now but skills for the future.
This FUN, ACTIVE course will focus on the all the physical conditions commonly experienced by teenagers these days: upper back tightness, lower back weakness, postural imbalances and breath control. The flow of the class will include shoulder releases, standing poses, inversions, twists and forward bends. The sessions will close in stillness and silence and you would be surprised to see how eagerly this quiet is received.
The teachings of Yoga help us to discover the wealth within. That riches outside ourselves have the illusion of contentment, are temporary pleasures and are the markers of the suffering and discontent that many teens endure. A well-rounded Yoga practice offers a place of refuge, where everyone is equal, regardless of social standing, body type or interests. It’s in the simple things like trying to sit still and silent for 3 minutes that balance is struck.

Meditation can be thought of as an act of awakening. Mastering this art will teach us new ways to approach our difficulties and will bring wisdom and joy into our lives.
These course sessions are aimed at introducing you to the bliss of meditating through the body. The techniques allow you to feel really comfortably grounded and more connected to your inner world.
There are many ways to meditate and it needn’t be challenging.
We often live with fear or anxiety and this can leave us clinging to an every changing world, whilst trying to fit in. Meditation offers you tools to assist in your everyday challenges.
As your awareness evolves and you expand into your true nature, you begin to tune in and trust more to your inner world, which is constantly reflecting back your external world.
It’s incredible how powerful meditation can be and at the same time so simple.
The benefits include fresh perceptions on old issues, clearer mental focus, better sleep patterns, strengthened immune system, reduced stress and a sense of wholeness.

Freedom Yoga |

Tuesdays & Thursdays 6.30 - 8.00am with Fabio next course begins Tuesday 7th February, 2012
Start with a personalised 60 minute session with Fabio to set out goals and a framework for your individual yoga practice. Then join the morning sessions for 9 weeks and see the transformation in your yoga and your life. The sessions are not led by the teacher in a classical yoga group form, you will work on a personalised yoga practice with instruction, adjustments and guidance from a senior teacher in an individual way.
Freedom Yoga will help you to:
- Create your own “self-practice”, tailored to your abilities and limitations
- Pace your practice around your energy level, fitness and level of yoga experience
- Target your injuries, illnesses and imbalances
- Include pranayama, relaxation, restorative, meditation techniques.
- Receive physical adjustments and support
- Boost your confidence and increase self-awareness
It is recommended (especially for beginners) to attend one or more yoga sessions with Fabio prior and during the course.
Session times: Arrive any time from 6.30am and finish by 8am
Bookings must be made in advance for this course, as your personal consultation must take place prior to 3rd February, 2012.

9 weeks plus intial one-on-one session with Fabio - $228.50
9 weeks without initial one-one-one session - $148.50 (only applies if you have attended a one-on-one session with Fabio previously)
Concessions and casual yoga passes do not apply.
Note: If you are forced to miss a session/s of your course, you are eligible to receive a maximum of 2 missed class vouchers to attend casual classes within the term of your enrolment. Missed class vouchers can be collected from reception.

Beginners Yoga Course |

This course is ideal for anyone who:
- has never done yoga before
- has attended a Beginners course before, but would love a refresher
- enjoys casual classes and would like to know more about yoga poses & philosophy
- attended last term’s beginners course and wants to keep going
Yoga postures and breathing help you relax as you become stronger, more supple and develop awareness and perspective in your life.
This course is designed to introduce you to yoga at a steady pace, helping you to re-energise your body, challenge and extend yourself physically and develop lightness, clarity and happiness in your life.
Investment: $165 (no concessions). Pre-booking is essential.

Pre-Natal Yoga & Holistic Birth Preparation |

Mondays 4.30 -6.30pm with Yolande next course starts 6th February, 2012 running for 9 weeks
The course covers the creation of a birth plan, working out all the aspects and alternatives of a birth, accessing your expectations, desires and philosophies and how best to facilitate them in your choices for birth.
The presentation of this information comes in combination with the ancient study of yoga, assisting a familiarity to grow within us as we combine the pregnant body with the pregnant mind and the soul of the child within. Yoga is the gateway to the trust, confidence and wisdom that we require to give birth free of fear and pain. (Yes this is possible!)
Taught by Yolande Hyde, yoga teacher, doula and qualified Childbirth Educator with over 10 years experience in supporting and assisting women through the birthing process.
Investment: $350 (includes all course materials). Bookings are essential, this course fills quickly so please book early to avoid disappointment.
