What is Holistic Mediation ?

Holistic mediation is a proven process that enables you to move on from conflict, to new and harmonious solutions that consider everyone’s needs while at the same time building and strengthening the relationship.

The key difference between this type of mediation and regular mediation is that it focuses on connection before outcome, with outcomes then emerging out of this new positive connection. Our goal is to move on from the thinking that creates conflict to a heart connection based on understanding and universal needs.

We find that when people connect with each other in this way, they naturally (in times of stress it just gets hidden) begin a collaborative search for solutions that work for everyone.

How does it work?
Your mediator facilitates a conversation in which each party can be heard to their satisfaction, both understanding each others individual experience and connecting with their universal human experience through the language of needs. The type of holistic mediation described here is based on the unique model of Nonviolent Communication developed over 45 years ago by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg. 

What if I don’t like the solution the other person suggest?
Mediation is different to conciliation or arbitration: no one imposes a solution on a party. Unless all the participants to the mediation agree on the result, the dispute remains unresolved. The solution is wholly yours to create and not determined or directed by any one person or outside influence. Rarely when a resolution is not reached, there is still a much stronger relationship and connection formed.
